Biography
Santhosh is a dancer and choreographer, and is currently the artistic director of Mamangam. He believes dance to be a universal form of communication, one that transcends language, cultural and political barriers - a way to bring people together as one. He was a Diploma student at the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts. He is trained and is proficient in Contemporary dance techniques, Ballet, Bharatanatyam, contact improvisation, Capoeira, Feldenkrais and Pilates. As a part of an Education Outreach Programme,Santhosh has facilitated sessions in many renowned British and Swedish institutions such as Plymouth University, Southbank centre, Pavilion Dance Bournemouth, Greenwich Dance Academy, Museum of World culture, Vara Konserthus, etc. He has previously also worked in several cultural summits held across the globe, in Brazil, South Africa, UK, Seoul et al.
Santhosh has worked as a senior facilitator cum performer and has performed and assisted in multiple full length multimedia Attakkalari productions such as “Trans avatar”, “For Pina”, “Meidhwani”. His production ‘Padheyam’ was premiered in ‘The museum of world Culture, Gothenburg, Sweden and then later reprised in Germany and UK. His second creation, ‘The Others’, was premiered in Alliance Francis, Banglore, India.
